Aerial Fire Fighting Europe conference and exhibition 2025

This year’s Aerial Fire Fighting Europe conference and exhibition, held in Bordeaux, France, on 26–27 March (with pre-event workshops on 25 March), will take another step forward in providing analysis, discussion and debate on the broadening European and global AFF mission, and the challenges and advances taking place in this critical mission area. Attendees will benefit from detailed technical presentations on key advances in French capabilities and science, as well important improvements to uncrewed aerial systems and space-based capabilities supporting wildfire stakeholders, as these move into mainstream adoption. Tangent Link’s partnership with Sécurité Civile, and support from important French national/regional agencies and the International Association of Fire Services (Comité Technique International de prevention et d’extinction de Feu; CTIF) will ensure a very senior turnout in Bordeaux.

A key theme of the conference is the European and global challenge of the rapid growth of mission requirements not being matched by requisite increases in resources (human, financial etc). Key speakers from North Africa, the Near East, Australia and the USA will also offer global insights and perspectives from important decision-makers and practitioners. Keynote presentations by the Director General of Sécurité Civile, Claire Kowalewski from rescEU/DG ECHO and Hilary Franz from the USA will give key insights on the strategic outlook, and senior speakers from Portugal, Bulgaria, Greece and Australia will share lessons applied from 2024’s challenging fire season.

There will of course be discussion and analysis of the game-changing fires in Los Angeles from senior US stakeholders. This year’s AFF Europe will also showcase a record number of vendor capabilities, with Amentum, Air Tractor, Airbus, Conair, De Havilland, Leonardo, Perimeter Solutions, Entrol, Recoil Aerospace and MAFFS speaking in detail about their latest mission and capability enhancements.
