Aero Asahi acquires H145 simulator

Aero Asahi will use the simulator practice normal and emergency procedures, as well as to train crew in specific HEMS and search and rescue procedures.

The simulator features a replica of the H145’s Helionix integrated avionics, as well as a six-projector spherical visual system, a vibration system, and a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) camera. The simulator also contains a high-resolution database of Japan with satellite imagery, as well as a number of pre-loaded mission scenarios.

The device will be the first of its kind to be installed in Japan by Entrol, strengthening the company’s presence in the country.

“We believe that training as if it is an actual flight operation and flying as if it is a training session is an important factor for safety,” said Ichiro Tashiro, Executive Officer at Flight Operations Headquarters in Aero Asahi. “We have installed the H145/BK117 D-3 simulator, which reproduces the actual aircraft with ENTROL’s technology. This will provide customers with a higher level of safety operation through not only type transition training but also mission training and various scenarios.”

Entrol also recently installed a simulator based on the Bell 429 at the HeliSpeed Academy Base in Blackpool, UK.
