US-based Air Ambulance Worldwide has finalised the acquisition of Aero National, further extending the company’s footprint in North America, and giving it a new base from which to operate air medical flights.
“Aero National is a Washington, PA-based air ambulance company and has been providing safe and compassionate aeromedical transports to clients since 1969,” said Mike Vallee, Vice-President of Business Development for Air Ambulance Worldwide. “The two Citation jets will compliment our fleet of two Lear Jet 35s and one Lear Jet 55. We proudly welcome the new members to the Air Ambulance Worldwide family and look forward to the enhanced geographic area and service offering that our clients can expect from the acquisition.”
Air Ambulance Worldwide will be taking on the pilots, medical crew and medical director of Aero National as part of the acquisition, although Aero National retains their own certificate as well as operational control. While the new Pennsylvania base will immediately adopt the Air Ambulance Worldwide medical protocols, they will undergo EURAMI auditing this summer during AAW’s scheduled process.
