Airbus Helicopters appoints Matthieu Louvot as new CEO

Matthieu Louvot has been appointed CEO of Airbus Helicopters, ushering in a new leadership era as the division focuses on strategic growth and innovation

Airbus SE has announced the appointment of Matthieu Louvot as Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Helicopters, effective 1 April 2026. Louvot will report to Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury and join the company’s Executive Committee.

Louvot, who currently serves as Airbus Executive Vice-President Strategy, will succeed Bruno Even. Even has decided to leave the company after eight years in the role to pursue new personal and professional objectives.

“I am deeply grateful for Bruno’s leadership at the helm of Airbus Helicopters over the past eight years. Under his tenure, the division expanded its product portfolio, transformed its industrial system, and has been placed on a sustainable and profitable growth trajectory,” said Faury. “Our teams at Helicopters will benefit from the leadership of Matthieu, whose extensive experience in the helicopter industry and broad knowledge of the division’s operational and strategic priorities will enable a smooth transition.”

A graduate of École Polytechnique and École Nationale d’Administration, Louvot began his career in the French public sector, including serving as an industry adviser at the French Presidency. He joined Airbus Helicopters in 2010 and has since held several senior leadership roles, including Executive Vice-President Customer Support & Services and Executive Vice-President Programs.

Airbus noted that Louvot’s successor in the Executive Vice-President Strategy role would be announced at a later date.

Airbus recently delivered its first H160 to France’s Gendarmerie Nationale.
