The funding will support enhancements to AirHub’s existing drone operations platform, as well as the development of new products

Drone software developer AirHub has raised €4.4 million through a Series A funding round to support its expansion and the development of new products.

The funding round was backed by Keen Venture Partners, RunwayFBU, Lumaux, and Lumo Labs, and the money will be used to further strengthen AirHub’s Drone Operations Center platform, expand its team, and support the development of two new related products.

The new products – known as MilHub and SecHub – will be aimed at defense-related and broader security operations respectively, including the provision of a strong counter-drone defense.

AirHub has contracts to provide technological support to the drone operations at agencies such as the Dubai Police, the Belgian Federal Police, and the Customs Administration of the Netherlands.

Thomas Brinkman, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of AirHub, said: “This funding helps us accelerate AirHub’s growth as a European software company serving organizations that operate in high-stakes environments. We see a clear need for trusted software that helps teams execute drone missions securely, effectively and at scale, while strengthening Europe’s ability to rely on its own technology in critical operations.”

Drone manufacturer Brinc recently unveiled its new Guardian law enforcement drone, which features a connection to satellite internet constellation Starlink and can automatically swap its batteries.
