Airlec and VallJet announce merger
French air ambulance operator Airlec Air Espace will form a shared holding company with fellow aviation firm VallJet
The two companies will be transferring equity with the end goal of merging under a unified ownership framework. A new brand for the new holding company will be unveiled soon.
In a statement, Paul Tiba, Airlec’s Managing Director, explained that the aim of the merger was to improve the effectiveness of operations through “maximizing integration and mutualization of resources”.
He added that the merger would improve the companies’ ability to navigate the complex modern aviation industry, including its many “regulatory, geopolitical, and economic challenges”.
Two New Zealand air medical providers, Taranaki Rescue Helicopter and Taranaki Air Ambulance, also recently announced a merger.
