All change for LIFESTAR in Texas

Med-Trans Corporation, operator of the Amarillo-based LIFESTAR aeromedical transportation programme, has upgraded to an Airbus H135 P3 helicopter

Med-Trans Corporation, operator of the Amarillo-based LIFESTAR aeromedical transportation programme, has started the year well, upgrading to an Airbus H135 P3 helicopter. President Rob Hamilton commented: “This all-new medically equipped helicopter and the medical and flight crews who will transport patients strengthens the commitment of Med-Trans and Northwest Texas Healthcare System to care for the rapidly evolving healthcare needs in the rural areas surrounding Amarillo. Together, our two organisations are building on a solid record of evolving our programmes in direct response to expanding demand in rural areas.”

LIFESTAR is to become a broader community-based programme, with employees who were formerly employed by the healthcare system to transition to Med-Trans.
