AMREF adds new evacuation package

AMREF Flying Doctors has launched a new product which it says is a ‘first-of-its-kind air evacuation scheme’.

Called Maisha Diamond, and provided to customers in conjunction with Aeroworx, the scheme will provide customers with the basic benefits of the company’s Maisha Platinum package, while also extending it to cover costs for hospitalisation and post-discharge return flight on a commercial airline.

Customers evacuated from Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia or South Sudan are brought to Nairobi, Kenya for medical attention. If medical treatment is not available in Nairobi the patient is evacuated to South Africa, says AMREF.

Other benefits of an AMREF subscription include two evacuation flights per year and two ground ambulance transfers within Kenya per year.
