AMS Heli Design receives EASA certification for EMS interior
AMS Heli Design has received the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) validation for its new lightweight emergency medical service (EMS) interior
The interior was designed for the Leonardo AW109 Trekker and AW109SP helicopter. A pivoting stretcher and a receiver extending outside the fuselage eases the medical crew in, making loading/unloading effortless, and new ergonomics provide access to the latest technology features to enhance patient care. The aviation life support system saves on weight compared to existing interiors solutions, according to the company, and is therefore improving AW109 performance and mission capabilities for EMS operators.
Multiple orders from Europe and US received
The interior has been fitted with technology and equipment that is fully compliant to the latest EU regulations. AMS has also already received a number of firm orders from both European and US customers and the first deliveries will occur before the year end.
“AMS can offer the market a new generation and advanced interior for better care of patients and significantly improved helicopter capabilities for EMS operators. Our interior associated with the outstanding performance of the AW109, makes this helicopter the reference for EMS operators for the [coming] years,” said Andrea Girolin, CEO of the company.
