Antwork completes funding round
Chinese drone logistics start-up Antwork has successfully completed a Series B+ funding round, raising tens of millions of yuan to support its operations
Funding for the round was led by Tsinghua Holdings Capital, a private equity investment fund which operates as a subsidiary of Tsinghua University.
Antwork, founded in 2015, currently focuses on providing drone deliveries to the emergency medical sector. Its drones have a maximum range of around 20km, and can automatically plot routes, take-off and land.
The company received a trial operation licence for logistics in urban environments from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in 2019, and has subsequently expanded its network to over 100 routes across the country. It has flown over 500,000km since the launch of its commercial operations.
The money will be used to expand Antwork’s operations further, including to support the development of its Skap data service system for urban air transportation. Skap integrates aerial data over urban spaces with data from ground-based cameras.
Elsewhere, Rwanda recently announced plans to establish a national drone network, in partnership with Zipline.
