Astronautics’ RoadRunner EFI receives EASA STC
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has given the Astronautics Corporation of America’s AFI4700 RoadRunner Electronic Flight Instrument (EFI) a supplemental type certificate (STC) to be used in A109/119 helicopters
The new EFI, which achieved STC from the Federal Aviation Administration in June, offers an upgrade that can be easily installed as a replacement for existing attitude director and horizontal situational indicator functionality, and which enables enhanced capability and safety features.
The new EFI unit provides operators readability in all lighting conditions, enablement of modern navigation and approach capability, reduced operating and maintenance costs and minimal downtime for installation.
“EASA approval allows A109/119 operators around the world to realize the cost, reliability, and safety benefits of Astronautics’ RoadRunner when upgrading to modern EFI systems on their helicopter fleets,” commented Chad Cundiff, President of Astronautics.
