The Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy has received certification for its new AW139 full-flight simulator

The Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy confirmed that the new helicopter simulator is now fully operational, and will be available for use by advanced trainees from early next 2025.

It follows the issuing of a qualification certificate by the Danish Transport Authority (Trafikstyrelsen) confirming that the AW139 simulator – supplied by Thales – meets a high standard of quality and safety.

The training academy has also been approved by the regulator as a flight simulation training device operator.

The simulator features a range of type ratings and search and rescue (SAR) scenarios, offering training for hoist operations, offshore procedures, and various challenging weather conditions. It is also capable of working in tandem with Atlantic Airways’ custom-made hoist trainer.

The academy also confirmed that bookings have now opened for individuals and organizations looking to train on the AW139 simulator.

TRU Simulation + Training recently delivered a new flight training simulator to Australia’s Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
