AUK Protection signs agreement with Ascent Helicopters
Seven new helicopters will be deployed as HEMS across several key locations in British Columbia
AUK Protection has announced the signing of a strategic agreement with Ascent Helicopters, a helicopter operator based in British Columbia, Canada. Under this contract, AUK Protection will provide advanced protective garments to outfit all of Ascent Helicopters’ pilots, to improve their comfort and safety during critical missions.
In addition to an extensive fleet of Bell, MD, and Airbus aircraft, Ascent Helicopters is expanding its operations across Western Canada with the acquisition of state-of-the-art AW169 helicopters.
These seven new helicopters will be deployed as helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) across several key locations in British Columbia to enhance emergency response capabilities in the region. The expansion also includes the development of new facilities and hangars to support these operations.
Johan Baumann, Founder of AUK Protection, commented: “Our garments are specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of aerial operations, ensuring pilots are protected and comfortable in all conditions.”
Chad Friesen, Chief Pilot at Ascent Helicopters, added: “AUK Protection’s garments will play a crucial role in safeguarding our pilots as they undertake lifesaving missions.
“Their combination of protection and comfort aligns perfectly with our operational needs, and we look forward to outfitting our team with this high-quality gear.”
Last year Ascent Helicopters received a CA$554.4 million (US$410.68 million) contract to supply aircraft to BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) in British Columbia.
