Australian Helicopters awarded fire contract

Australian Helicopters, a supplier of mission-critical helicopter services headquartered in Brisbane, has announced that it has won its first dedicated fire-fighting contract. The three-year contract, which includes two one-year extension options, is with the National Aerial Firefighting Centre (NAFC) and will be delivered via the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) following a tender process. Under the contract, Australian Helicopters will provide air attack supervision services over the fire season with two AS350 BA aircraft, based out of Woodside in the Adelaide Hills.

“We already work with the CFS in South Australia as part of the State Rescue Helicopter Service,” commented Lauren Adams, Australian Helicopters’ head of commercial. “However this is an opportunity to work with them on a standalone basis as support during the fire season. We will also be able to add another level of experience through our sister company, Inaer, who have been providing helicopter fire-fighting services, primarily in Europe, since 1983.”
