AVIC completes AG600 night flight test
Chinese aerospace firm AVIC General Huanan Aircraft Industry Co has completed the first night-time test flight of its amphibious AG600 fixed-wing aircraft
The flight was conducted at a test flight base in Pucheng, Shaanxi Province, and was intended to evaluate and validate the safety of the aircraft’s lighting systems.
The company, a subsidiary of the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), stated that more test flights would be carried out following the completion of this nighttime trial, with the aim of eventually obtaining a type certificate for this aircraft model.
The AG600 was designed with the intention of supporting the country’s emergency aviation sector, and is capable of conducting a range of missions in fields such as aerial firefighting and maritime search and rescue.
AVIC began type certificate testing for the AG600M in February 2023.
