The firm will continue to be the aviation partner of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) for another decade

Babcock International has confirmed that it has received a new 10-year contract from SCAA to provide year-round aviation support from the charity’s bases in Perth and Aberdeen.

As part of the contract, the company will oversee upgrades to helicopter operations, and increase the service’s night flying capability in support of SCAA’s plans to extend its operating hours.

SCAA recently announced that it would receive a new H145 for its Aberdeen base later this year.

“SCAA delivers critical lifesaving care to communities across Scotland, saving thousands of lives every year,” said Chloe Barker, Managing Director of Babcock’s UK aviation business. “We’re proud to have been by the charity’s side for 10 years, delivering essential helicopter emergency services, and are thrilled to continue our collaboration with the charity as it looks to further enhance its services.”

David Craig, SCAA’s Chief Executive, added: “We are delighted to continue our long-term aviation partnership with Babcock. These service upgrades are the next step to ensure that SCAA achieves our ambition that ‘no one in Scotland should die because help can’t get there in time’.”
