Babcock Italia has been managing the National Fire Brigade’s amphibious fleet on behalf of the Italian Government since 2011

Since acquiring the contract to maintain the Italian Government’s National Fire Brigade’s fleet of Canadair amphibious aircraft, Babcock Italia has flown more than 50,000 hours across 13,000 missions and helped to extinguish over 7,000 fires across Italy and in its numerous international missions from Cyprus to Saudi Arabia.

The contract, acquired in 2011, includes both engineering support and fleet maintenance and supplying specially trained pilots. Babcock’s pilot training is conducted with a Full Flight Simulator, which Babcock also had a hand in designing.

Babcock are a persistent force in airborne special missions, and recently Babcock executive Steve Landrey embarked on a 186-mile hike to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance, which Babcock also hold the operational contract for, after they responded to an incident involving Landrey.
