Baltimore Hospital finds alternative medevac site
Baltimore Hospital, Maryland, in the US, has agreed to a deal with nearby Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) to use one of its facilities as an alternative site for medical evacuations and patient transport. The BGE Spring Gardens Facility will, however, only be used if the main helipad at Baltimore Hospital is unavailable.BGE also stated that a test will be carried out to make sure that the site is suitable. A helicopter will land at the Spring Gardens Facility and transport a mannequin by air ambulance to the University of Maryland Medical Centre.
