Baptist Health acquires new Bell 407
Baptist Health, a healthcare system in the US state of Florida, has acquired a new Bell 407 helicopter to support its air ambulance program
The rotorcraft will be used to support helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) in the northeast of the state, where demand is growing rapidly.
Speaking to local news outlet News4JAX, Parker Brigance, Director of Baptist Emergency Services, explained: “This is all about population growth. We monitor that very closely, and we want to make sure our patients always have access to lifesaving equipment and lifesaving procedures like this one here.”
The Bell 407 is capable of speeds of 246km/h, with a range of approximately 624km, and a maximum endurance of four hours. It can carry a total of six passengers in standard configuration.
Fellow US-based healthcare system Health First recently announced the launch of its second air ambulance helicopter this year, to serve Brevard County, Florida.
