Bell 505s delivered to South Korea
South Korea has received three Bell 505s from manufacturer Bell Textron for use by the South Korean military
The helicopters will be used by both the Republic of Korea Navy and the Republic of Korea Army for pilot training, and are being delivered as part of a contract for up to 40 aircraft signed in May 2022.
The Bell 505 can achieve speeds of up to 232km/h, with a range of 567km and a maximum endurance of approximately 3.9 hours. It is also equipped with a Garmin G1000H flight deck.
“The Bell 505’s state-of-the-art training environment unmatched in that class of helicopter will deliver skills to their next generation of pilots that will enhance their operational readiness,” said Sameer Rehman, Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Bell.
In addition to being used for training, the Bell 505 is also used for helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) and public safety operations. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) also acquired a Bell 505 helicopter in June of this year.
