Bell delivers two helicopters to the Indonesian Navy
The helicopters expand the navy’s Bell fleet to five aircraft and will be used for training
The Indonesian Navy has received delivery of two Bell 505 helicopters from manufacturer Bell Textron.
The aircraft will be used by the navy as basic helicopter trainers for new pilots. The navy also owns and operates a fleet of three Bell 412 helicopters.
The Bell 505 helicopters feature full authority digital engine control engines capable of a maximum cruise speed of 231 km/h (125 knots) with a range of 566km.
The aircraft are also equipped with Garmin G1000H two screen flight decks and offer capacity for one pilot and four additional passengers.
“We are honored that the Indonesian Navy has selected the Bell 505 as its basic helicopter trainer, and we look forward to supporting the training of its next generation of rotorcraft pilots,” said Jose Jacinto Monge, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Bell.
The Indonesia Ministry of Defence also placed an order for two Airbus A400M aircraft in late November 2021.
