Bell hosts helicopter conference in Shanghai
The event intends to promote the company’s support for the air medical and rescue aviation sectors
US aerospace manufacturer Bell held an operator conference in Shanghai, China, to showcase its support for key sectors such as helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) and search and rescue (SAR).
The conference is a means for Bell to provide a way of engaging with the Chinese helicopter sector, and saw over 30 operators in attendance. Bell noted that China’s HEMS fleet has grown rapidly in recent years – a trend encouraged by the national government.
Safety was a focus of the conference, with Steve Soliz, Bell’s HEMS Segment Manager, and Terry Miyauchi, the company’s Public Safety Segment Manager, sharing insights and best practices on how to support the growth of the sector while developing safe, efficient and sustainable solutions. The conference also featured presentations from representatives of the Bell Training Academy (BTA).
“We are thrilled to share our knowledge and experience in HEMS and public safety with our Chinese customers, as well as gather valuable feedback directly from the customer to continue raising the bar for our support offerings,” said Soliz.
“Bell is proud to have held this conference in region to bring operators and Bell teammates together for meaningful discussions,” said Jacinto Monge, Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region at Bell. “We strive to provide Chinese customers with superior solutions to meet their needs and support their growth. Through knowledge sharing and best practices, we hope to enable our customers to achieve greater operational success.”
Original equipment manufacturer Airbus Helicopters was recently awarded a contract to supply 50 H160 helicopters to the Chinese market for helicopter lessor and operator GDAT.
