Blackcomb Helicopters appoints new Director
Blackcomb Helicopters has announced the appointment of Nick Salisbury to its board of directors
Salisbury brings years of experience in the utility and aviation sectors to the new role, for which the appointment was effective from 1 January.
He founded Crux Subsurface, a geotechnical exploration and construction firm, in 1998, later selling the business to Quanta Services in 2012. Salisbury continued to serve as President of Crux following the change in ownership until 2020.
During his tenure at Crux and Quanta, he oversaw a large number of infrastructure projects that were completed using helicopter operations – which led to him developing relationships with a number of helicopter operators in Canada and the USA.
Salisbury also owns and serves as CEO of EmpireAir, a Spokane-based air charter operator which is currently pursuing full Part 135 operations using a fleet of turboprop aircraft in the Pacific Northwest region of North America.
Blackcomb Helicopters offers a range of aviation services, including medical evacuation, search and rescue, and firefighting. The company previously purchased a virtual reality flight simulator for the H125 from Loft Dynamics in June 2023.
