Bluedrop wins RSAF mixed reality helicopter training contract

Bluedrop secures RSAF contract to deliver mixed reality helicopter cabin crew trainers with long-term support, boosting immersive, data-driven operational training capability

Bluedrop Training & Simulation has secured contracts from the Republic of Singapore Air Force to supply mixed reality (MR) trainers and provide multi-year support for the service’s helicopter cabin aircrew training program.

Under the initial agreement, the Canadian company will design, develop, and deliver high-fidelity MR trainers to support realistic, scenario-based instruction for helicopter rear-crew personnel. The systems are intended to support emergency procedures, mission rehearsal, and crew coordination training within a controlled environment.

The follow-on support contract covers the provision of instructors and operators, alongside maintenance and life-cycle support for the training systems, with the aim of sustaining long-term operational readiness.

Bluedrop said its solution incorporates a data-enabled training approach that captures and analyses performance metrics to provide objective assessment and training insights. The company said the system enabled instructors to monitor progress, identify skill gaps, and improve training outcomes.

“We are proud to support the Republic of Singapore Air Force with next-generation training solutions that combine immersive technologies and high-fidelity haptics,” said Jean-Claude Siew, EVP Technology and Simulation at Bluedrop. “These contracts highlight the growing demand for rear-crew training systems that are not only realistic and scalable, but also capable of delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, performance, and readiness.”

Bluedrop USA recently partnered with Simutech Solutions. The partnership will see the two companies bring advanced tactical training simulation products to operators across the Asia Pacific and Middle East.
