Boost receives TCCA approval
The human external cargo system can be used with other manufacturers’ dual hook systems on Bell and Airbus aircraft
Boost Human External Cargo Systems has received approval from Transport Canada's Civil Aviation Directorate (TCCA) for its Personnel Carrying Device System for Transport Category Rotorcraft.
The system received Supplemental Type Certification (STC) for use with a dual hook system on the Bell 205, 212, 412 and Airbus H145.
Boost confirmed that similar certification is also pending from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), while the company is also seeking to acquire additional certifications ‘for more fully approved solutions’.
“This STC covers everything below the HEC hook; the Y-Rope Lanyard, Suspension Line, Rigging Plate and Personnel Carrying Device System,” said Jeff Yarnold, Vice President of Operations. “Not only do we supply this system with the certified BOOST HEC Systems, but this STC also covers using our system with other manufacturers’ dual hook systems, for the Bell 205, 212, 412 and Airbus H145.
Boost Systems appointed Michael Petsche as its new Vice President of Engineering in March 2022.
