Bridger Aerospace acquires new aircraft
The company has added four more permanent aircraft to its fleet, including two Canadair CL-215Ts
Bridger Aerospace has completed the purchase of two Spanish Canadair CL-215T firefighting aircraft, increasing the company’s scooper fleet from six aircraft to eight.
The purchase of the Canadairs cost approximately $50 million.
The company also confirmed that the purchase follows its acquisition of four air attack aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2025 – two of which had previously been leased and on contract.
While the exact type of aircraft acquired was unspecified, Bridger’s air attack fleet is made up of a mixture of Pilatus PC-12s and Daher Kodiak 100s.
The expanded fleet is intended to improve Bridger’s mission capability, and expand its opportunities for new contracts as it enters the 2026 fire season.
“The addition of these aircraft positions Bridger to better fulfil our mission to protect lives, property, and the environment in 2026,” said Sam Davis, CEO of Bridger Aerospace. “Given the strong demand for our purpose-built scooper fleet and the proven effectiveness of our light fixed-wing aircraft in fire support, we are confident in the potential for these aircraft to generate additional revenue and cash flow growth starting in 2026, and we look forward to deploying these assets.”
Bridger Aerospace previously secured a contract with the US Department of the Interior in January 2025.
