Bridger Aerospace acquires new Super Scooper

The company has received a new CL-415EAF ‘Super Scooper’ firefighting aircraft from De Havilland Canada
The aircraft is the sixth of its type to join Bridger. Tim Sheehy, the company’s CEO said that the aircraft would ‘allow us to further expand our operations, and allow greater deployment of the Bridger aircraft fleet across the US’. The company currently operates a mixed fleet of over 20 aircraft.
Sheehy continued: “By adding to what was already the nation’s largest fleet of Super Scoopers, we hope to ensure their availability to our federal and state government customers to help combat the growing threat of wildfires.”
The Super Scooper’s main fuselage compartment is fitted with water tanks capable of carrying up to 6,137 liters. The tanks can be filled in approximately 12 seconds when the aircraft is skimming at a distance of 1,340 over an appropriate body of water (with a depth greater than 1.4m).
Bridger Aerospace also merged with Jack Creek Investment, a ‘special purpose acquisition company’, in January 2023.
