Bridger purchases NightRide thermal cameras
Bridger Aerospace has partnered with NightRide Thermal to purchase high-resolution thermal cameras for its aerial firefighting fleet
In a statement, Zach Hargrove, Engineering Program Manager at Bridger Aerospace, explained: “NightRide is our new infrared camera supplier for the scooper infrared (IR) project.
“We integrated the Ranger model into our aircraft and have been very pleased with the results. Our flight testing has demonstrated excellent early detection and video capture using the NightRide Thermal camera,” he added.
Bridger operates six water-bombing De Havilland CL-415EAF amphibious Super Scoopers, which frequently operate in challenging terrain and environmental conditions. The new thermal imaging cameras are expected to greatly improve flight safety in low-visibility conditions. The technology will also enable pilots to identify new hotspots while responding to wildfires.
Bridger recently dispatched its entire Super Scooper fleet to Canada to respond to wildfires there.
