Bristow completes takeover of BIH
The Bristow Group has announced that it has completed its takeover of British International Helicopter Services (BIH), effective from 2 August
Bristow will now focus on integrating BIH into its wider UK operations. Subsequent to the takeover, BIH will adopt the Bristow name and brand throughout its operations, and Bristow will inherit all of BIH’s aircraft fleets, contracts and approximately 110 employees.
This includes several key contracts from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), including the provision of support helicopters to the Falkland Islands, as well as operating the Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) helicopter support program on behalf of the Royal Navy.
The takeover was announced in May 2022, and was originally expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
“This acquisition further enhances our government services business, and we welcome our new, highly capable and experienced team members into the Bristow family,” said Chris Bradshaw, President and CEO of Bristow Group. “We will now build off BIH’s longstanding history and strong relationships with the MoD and will continue providing safe and reliable service to both military and civilian markets.”
“The acquisition of BIH will further enhance Bristow’s leading global government services business by strengthening existing relationships and developing new partnerships throughout government sectors for safe and reliable vertical lift solutions,” said Alan Corbett, Senior Vice President of Bristow for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Search and Rescue. “Through this acquisition, Bristow is well-positioned to further expand our services throughout the U.K. and beyond.”
