Bristow, Lilium sign MoU to support Lilium Jet
Bristow Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with eVTOL developer Lilium to support the development of the Lilium Jet aircraft
The agreement outlines a collaboration between the two companies for the development of a maintenance program in support of the Lilium Jet, a hybrid eVTOL/fixed-wing aircraft.
Under the non-binding agreement, Bristow will have the option to purchase 50 Lilium Jets, and to serve as an authorized service provider for the Lilium Jet, including for its launch network in Florida, as well as in future US and European markets. The MoU also outlines how Lilium and Bristow could collaborate further to achieve the relevant regulatory approvals to operate the Lilium Jet in Florida.
The proposed arrangement between Bristow and Lilium is subject to the parties finalizing commercial terms and entering into definitive agreements with respect thereto, and the satisfaction of certain conditions.
According to Daniel Wiegand, Co-Founder and CEO of Lilium: “The Bristow partnership builds on our existing partnerships with other best-in-class organizations. They are a leading maintenance provider with incredible operational experience.”
Bristow previously signed an MoU with rival eVTOL developer Overair in December 2021, to collaborate on the commercialization of Overair’s Butterfly aircraft.
