CAL FIRE partners with TracPlus to launch CATIS

TracPlus has partnered with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to implement CATIS, a new platform aimed at improving the agency’s management of aerial firefighting operations. CATIS, powered by TracPlus’s FireFlyte software, replaces CAL FIRE’s in-house legacy system with a more adaptable and data-driven solution.

The transition comes ahead of the 2025 wildfire season, as CAL FIRE prepares to meet growing operational demands. CATIS is designed to streamline data entry, improve situational awareness, and support more informed resource allocation. Key features include real-time dashboards, configurable reporting tools, and support for performance monitoring across aviation operations.

The system reflects CAL FIRE’s broader modernization efforts and long-standing emphasis on integrating technology into incident response. With scalability built into its architecture, CATIS is expected to support future needs, including enhanced analytics, automation, and system integration.
