CAMTS announces change of leadership

Eileen Frazer has devoted 35 years to creating and developing CAMTS since its inception. She wrote the feasibility study in 1988 that led to the development of CAMTS and was hired as the Executive Director by the initial board of directors consisting of six original professional organization members. Frazer has served as Executive Director continuously since that time.

The board considered many external candidates and has appointed Jan Eichel to assume the role of Executive Director. Eichel has served as Associate Executive Director – Clinical since 2017. She also served as a Site Surveyor while employed as Chief Flight Nurse at West Michigan Air Care for many years.

Frazer will work closely with Eichel and the board during the transition in 2025.

The board meeting was held prior to the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) in Salt Lake City in November, where there was a special reception for Dr Dick Orr, who is retiring from the board after 33 years. Orr was the first representative from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and has served as Vice-Chair and most recently as Chair of the Board.

In November a new Executive Director for CAMTS was announced.
