The nonprofit organization awarded 16 North American accreditations and recognized two international programs for excellence in medical transport

Following its spring board meeting, the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) announced the successful accreditation of 16 air and ground medical transport services. The announcement came during the Critical Care Transport Medicine Conference (CCTMC), where CAMTS executive staff participated in ongoing discussions around safety, innovation, and excellence in critical care transport.

“Achieving CAMTS accreditation is a significant accomplishment that reflects a steadfast commitment to excellence in medical transport,” said Jan Eichel, Executive Director of CAMTS. “CAMTS standards, developed and continuously refined by a board of seasoned safety and medical transportation experts, go well beyond regulatory requirements. Accredited programs undergo regular, rigorous audits to ensure ongoing compliance and the highest level of patient care and safety.”

The CAMTS board awarded new and renewed accreditations across rotor wing, fixed wing, ground, and special operations transport categories. The programs accredited this spring are:

  • Seattle Children’s, Seattle, Washington – New Accreditation (RW/FW/G)
  • CareFlight Air and Mobile, Dayton, Ohio – RW/G
  • Children’s Mercy Critical Care Transport, Kansas City, Missouri – RW/FW/G
  • Children’s Nebraska, Omaha, Nebraska – RW/FW/G

These awards reflect CAMTS’ growing global reach and continued emphasis on elevating safety and quality standards in patient transport worldwide.

CAMTS recently released a draft of its 13th Edition Accreditation Standards for medical transport.
