Centum expands Lifeseeker integration in Spain and Canada

Centum is advancing the integration of its Lifeseeker SAR XL S10M system into Spain’s C295 maritime surveillance aircraft, part of Airbus Defence and Space’s VIGMA program. The upgraded Lifeseeker system is designed to optimize integration with mission systems and meet wider operational and military standards, making it compatible with a broader range of airborne platforms.

The first units for the Spanish fleet have been ordered, with deliveries expected in the coming months. Lifeseeker integration is also being extended to other international C295 fleets, including the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CC-295 Kingfisher. Under Canada’s Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) program, an order for a fleet of eight systems plus one additional unit has been formalized.

Lifeseeker enables the precise location of mobile phones in complex environments, improving response times and mission effectiveness for SAR across maritime and land scenarios. Its capabilities also support emergency response and disaster recovery operations, for example following earthquakes and floods.

The announcement was made during FIDAE, one of Latin America’s premier aerospace and defense events, where Centum are exhibiting in the Spain Pavilion.

Centum’s Lifeseeker was recently chosen as line-fit option for Airbus Helicopters.
