Citizens evacuated from warzone in Yemen by EMERCOM
An EMERCOM Ilyushin II-76 evacuated 62 citizens who had decided to leave the Yemen due to the conflict that still rages within the country.
A Russian Emergency Control Ministry (EMERCOM) Ilyushin II-76 fixed-wing aircraft landed at Domodedovo Airport, Russia, on 19 July after evacuating 62 citizens from Russia or Commonwealth of Independence (CIS) countries who had decided to leave the Yemen due to the conflict that still rages within the country.
The jet had landed in Sana’a airport on 18 July where it dropped off 20 tons of humanitarian goods, including foodstuffs and tents, said EMERCOM.
A team of medical workers from EMERCOM’s Tsentrospas team and psychologists from the Centre for Emergency Psychological Aid accompanied those evacuated on the aircraft.
