Colombian Air Force awards ITP Aero its Black Hawk helicopter fleet engine MRO contract
The T700 engine MRO services will run until June 2026
Spanish manufacturer ITP Aero has signed a contract with the Colombian Ministry of Defense for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of the T700 engines that power its armed forces’ fleet of Black Hawk helicopters. The contract will run until June 2026 and the MRO services for the engines will be carried out at ITP Aero’s facilities in Albacete, Spain.
ITP Aero has been providing MRO services for the T700 engines of the Black Hawk helicopter fleet of the Colombian Army and the Colombian Air Force (FAC) since 2012.
Pablo Fuentes, ITP Aero’s Director of In-Service Support, commented: “It is an honor that the Colombian Ministry of Defense has once again placed its trust in ITP Aero to carry out engine maintenance on its fleet of Black Hawk helicopters. The award of this contract is a further demonstration of the reliability and flexibility of our services, and we are committed to providing the highest quality service to enable the Colombian Air Force to perform at its best during its very demanding flight missions.”
Black Hawks fitted with Bambi Buckets were used to tackle Colombia’s recent fires, which burned over 17,000 hectares (42,000 acres).
