Contour Helicopters partners with Voxelis
Aviation operator Contour Helicopters has joined Voxelis’s early customer adoption program for the VoxVision data collection platform
As part of the program, Contour will become one of Voxelis’s technology launch partners for the artificial intelligence (AI) driven platform.
The platform is designed to collect and analyze visual data collected by aerial firefighting aircraft to build a digital picture of the fire and its surroundings.
According to Colin Pelton, President of Contour Helicopters, the system will be fitted to the company’s Sikorsky S-70 Firehawk and Eurocopter AS350 aircraft, with the aim of enhancing the company’s aerial firefighting response.
“The devastating 2023 showed that our industry needs to accelerate its efforts to improve wildfire response capability,” he said.
Fellow aerial firefighting firm Conair Group recently received Level 4 certification for its new mission training system from Transport Canada.
