Coptersafety to acquire second AW139 simulator
The new simulator will be used to provide training for a range of mission types, including search and rescue (SAR) and emergency medical services (EMS)
Flight training provider Coptersafety has placed an order for a new AW139 Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) with TRU Simulation.
The simulator will be installed in Coptersafety’s facility near Helsinki Airport in Finland. It is the second FFS of this type ordered from TRU Simulation, and is due to enter service in the first half of 2027.
Coptersafety stated that, similar to that one, the new simulator would be equipped with a “vast number of mission features, including advanced avionics, realistic flight dynamics, and high-fidelity visual systems that replicate operational environments”.
The end result is an “immersive, scenario-based training platform that helps pilots prepare for offshore, SAR, EMS missions and more”.
Coptersafety recently received certification for its AW169 FFS – also supplied by TRU Simulation.
