Coptersafety orders two FFS from Reiser Simulation and Training

Coptersafety has commissioned two new Level D full flight simulators (FFS) from Reiser Simulation and Training for its training centre near Helsinki International Airport. These simulators will bolster its existing Airbus Helicopters training portfolio and specifically address the evolving demands of search and rescue (SAR), offshore, and special mission operators.

The first simulator will be a full-motion H175 Level D FFS, marking one of the first commercial-level H175 simulators globally. Equipped with the latest Helionix avionics suite and mission-specific features, it is tailored to replicate the operational environment for offshore and SAR flights.

The second simulator is a Level D H145, designed to support the increasing training needs of H145 operators. This simulator’s configuration will accommodate helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS), hoisting, and other critical missions frequently encountered in SAR and special operations.

Toni Rönnberg, Coptersafety’s COO, said: “The Airbus Helicopters’ H145 fleet is quickly growing and so is the need for additional H145 simulator training capacity. As our next new simulator type, we’ve chosen the Airbus Helicopters’ H175 due to the growing fleets of super-medium types. With these new simulators, we will extend our customer base to a new type and add much-needed capacity to the H145 training market. Both FFS will have a wide selection of options and features with the newest versions of avionics to ensure that our customers can have the best possible training available in the market.”

Both simulators will hold certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to Level D standards, as well as approval from other key aviation authorities including the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Transport Canada (TC), and Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

Reiser Simulation and Training recently secured a new contract for NH90 Sea Tiger maintenance training.
