Coptrz named exclusive UK partner for Avy

The tie-up signals a push toward scalable autonomous drone networks in the UK, enhancing rapid-response and long-range operational capabilities for critical public sector missions

UK-based drone retailer Coptrz has announced an exclusive partnership with Dutch drone company Avy to deliver long-endurance beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone capabilities to the emergency services and defense sectors.

The agreement establishes Coptrz as Avy’s sole UK partner for these markets, marking a significant step in advancing autonomous drone operations nationwide. The collaboration introduces Avy’s fixed-wing platforms, including the Aera aircraft and its ‘drone in a box’ docking system, enabling scalable and remote deployments.

Avy’s network combines long-range aircraft with automated docking stations, allowing drones to launch, land, and recharge without on-site personnel. With response times of around 30 seconds and the ability to manage multiple assets from a central command center, the system supports rapid data collection and payload delivery. Integrated automation enables scheduled missions and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven image processing.

The partnership is expected to support UK Ministry of Defence and public sector applications, including logistics, medical delivery, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.

Simon Harris, Managing Director of Coptrz, commented: “This collaboration allows us to deliver long-endurance, mission-ready capabilities that meet the evolving needs of emergency services and defense, while reinforcing our commitment to providing secure, future-ready technologies.”

Benjamin van der Hilst, CEO of Avy, added: “The UK represents a huge opportunity for Avy, and Coptrz is exactly the partner we need to seize it. Their commercial drone expertise and sector knowledge make them the perfect fit.”

Volatus Aerospace recently secured approval for scalable BVLOS drone operations.
