De Havilland awards Canadair 515 contract to FTG
Firan Technology Group (FTG) will provide components for De Havilland Aircraft of Canada’s (DHC’s) Canadair 515 fixed-wing firefighter
FTG has been selected by DHC to provide updated cockpit control assemblies for the new Canadair 515 (DHC-515) aerial firefighting aircraft.
The design, development, and production of the assemblies will be conducted at FTG’s facility in Toronto, with deliveries due to begin later this year.
DHC has received a number of orders for the purpose-built amphibious aerial firefighting aircraft, with the Spanish government ordering seven DHC-515s in April 2024. Greece and Croatia also ordered seven and two aircraft respectively in March of the same year.
