Draganfly unveils new compact drone
Drone firm Draganfly has launched its new APEX uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV), designed for law enforcement and military purposes
The drone, a compact, foldable quadcopter designed as a more portable version of the Draganfly Commander 3XL, can fly for up to 45 minutes and carry a payload of 5lb (2.27kg).
The aircraft has a “quick-release, exchangeable payload system”, allowing operators to quickly modify it to the needs of specific missions.
It also features optional upgrades to onboard computing and communications, intended to make the APEX “fit for a variety of current and future UAV operations”.
The drone’s Nvidia processor is suitable for onboard artificial intelligence (AI) and real-time data processing, and there are a number of communication link options available – including coded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (COFDM) and multi-channel capabilities.
The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) launched its own public safety drone program earlier this year.
