DRF Luftrettung reselects Bucher Leichtbau for HEMS gear
DRF Luftrettung has placed an order for two more AC70 kits with Bucher Leichtbau.
German HEMS company DRF Luftrettung has decided, after the successful commissioning of five H145 helicopters with HEMS equipment from Bucher Leichtbau, to place an order for two more AC70 kits with the manufacturer. DRF Luftrettung has also opted to install Bucher’s modular AC67 kit on its new H135s.
Bucher says that the new AC67 kits can be adapted for missions with greater flexibility. The firm also says that the new kits feature more ergonomically designed modification and handling, and offer more space for the installation of medical equipment, while still retaining important features such as the rear and side loading.
DRF Luftrettung currently operates in both Germany and Austria, with over 50 helicopters at their disposal, 17 of which are EC135s. Chairman Dr Hans Jörg Eyrich commented: “The evaluation of our call for HEMS equipment for the H135 was based on four criteria: quality, performance, adherence to deadlines and price. Bucher Leichtbau AG's bid impressed us in all these areas.”
