DroneSense partners with MatrixSpace to enhance DFR operations
DroneSense will integrate MatrixSpace’s object detection and airspace awareness solution into its software platform
Uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) management platform developer DroneSense has partnered with MatrixSpace to improve support for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone operations.
The partnership will see the integration of MatrixSpace Radar – an artificial intelligence (AI) powered real-time object detection and airspace awareness solution – into DroneSense Remote (DSR), the company’s operational software platform.
The integration will enable radar tracking across urban and rural settings, and is intended to enhance the performance of drone-as-first-responder (DFR) programs.
MatrixSpace stated that “as more public agencies, regional consortiums, and critical infrastructure providers turn to drones for real-time intelligence, the integration of ground-based radar is essential to scaling safe and effective BVLOS operations”.
“This integration with MatrixSpace represents the first of several partnerships to unlock BVLOS operations for public safety agencies,” said Aydin Ghajar, Chief Operating Officer at DroneSense. “By bringing real-time radar awareness into our OpsHub interface, we’re enhancing both mission execution and safety.”
Palm Springs Police Department announced a partnership with MatrixSpace to expand its DFR program earlier this year.
