EAA receives new helicopter
European Air Ambulance (EAA), a subsidiary of the Luxembourg Air Rescue Group (LAR), has received a new Airbus H145 D3
The helicopter is the first of its type to be delivered to EAA – a second aircraft of the same type is due for delivery this autumn.
It will be used to conduct rescue missions across Luxembourg and neighboring countries. The acquisition is part of LAR’s plans to eventually phase out its current fleet of MD 902 helicopters, which are approaching the end of their useable lifespan.
LAR stated that the fleet upgrade will enable it to ‘maintain a high quality and performance of air rescue and ambulance services for its patients’.
The company currently operates a fleet of six rescue helicopters – comprising the H145 and five MD 902s – alongside a fleet of fixed-wing aircraft, including one Challenger 605 delivered in 2021, and three Learjet 45s.
Airbus announced that it was developing a law enforcement configuration for the H145 in February.
