The UK’s largest emergency services trade show ‘brings together police, fire and rescue, ambulance and rescue professionals’ to ‘collaborate, share experiences and learn from each other.

The Emergency Services Show (ESS) will include 450 exhibitors, spread over 20 per cent more floor space than previous years, featuring exhibits on ‘public safety, medical and fire-fighting equipment, vehicle and fleet, drones, satellite and blended communications, search and rescue, extrication, water rescue, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives management (CBRNE), first response, protective clothing and uniforms, training, community safety and station facilities’.

‘A host of learning opportunities’

The event will also feature ‘a host of learning opportunities’, including a program of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited seminars on topics such as:

• Lessons Learnt – talking about experiences of real-life UK and international incidents and emergencies, ranging from Covid response to the Grenfell Fire and the Manchester Arena attack
• Health & Wellbeing – addressing physical and mental health for emergency responders
• Emerging Technologies – showcasing how emergency services can manage and leverage data and technology, and
• First Responders.

The College of Paramedics will once again offer its popular 30-minute CPD workshops. The Extrication and Trauma Challenges also return as interactive experience for participants. Hosted by West Midlands Fire Service, the challenges showcase the latest technology and equipment in action, live streamed to large screens within the exhibition hall.

In the networking hub of the show, The Collaboration Zone, some 80 emergency services, voluntary groups, charities, and non-governmental organizations will be sharing details of the support they offer, while members of other partner agencies will be available to discuss co-response and partnership working.

Future Policing returns after its successful 2021 launch

Additionally, the ESS’s Future Policing area returns after its successful launch in 2021, 30 per cent larger than before. Supported by an Advisory Council chaired by Lord Hogan-Howe, the former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, Future Policing showcases the latest technologies, equipment and training for the police sector and hosts a two-day, CPD-accredited conference packed with high-level speakers. Among key issues to be explored will be effective and compliant data management, leveraging technology for better crime prevention, learning and development to support recruitment and improving international collaboration.
