Erlanger Health System receives sixth helicopter

Erlanger Health System, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, US, has confirmed the arrival of its sixth Life Force air ambulance.

Erlanger Health System, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, US, has confirmed the arrival of its sixth Life Force air ambulance. The H135 will make its first flight on 15 August, but is currently placed at Erlanger Baroness Hospital in order for it to be equipped for duty. It will be based at Western Carolina Regional Airport, according to Erlanger Health Systems.

The chopper will be equipped to fly over the mountainous, foggy regions where it is based, and Erlanger said that the addition of the craft will give patients in the Murphy region quicker access to a higher level of care with increased safety.

The clinical team for the aircraft will be provided by Life Force, said Erlanger, whilst Med Trans Corporation provides pilots and mechanics along with the aircraft itself.
