Kluge takes over from Claudia Schmiedhuber on 1 August

The European Aero-Medical Institute (EURAMI) has announced that Eva Kluge will be its new Managing Director from 1 August.

A high-profile figure in the air ambulance and travel assistance industry, Kluge joins EURAMI from Groupe IMA, where she was Head of Business Development and Provider Networks. She previously spent many years with Unicair/Air Alliance Express and Tyrol Air Ambulance, and has been a well-known presence at ITIC events.

Kluge and the current MD, Claudia Schmiedhuber, will work towards a seamless final handover of duties on 20 August, after which Schmiedhuber will officially be on vacation for the rest of the year. Kluge’s priorities will be to ensure that business continues uninterrupted and that planning for the EURAMI conference in November remains on course.

Sharing news of the appointment, EURAMI President Dr Cai Glushak said: “Eva … brings expertise in management and marketing, and, combined with her knowledge of our industry, is extremely well poised to support our mission and members. I personally welcome her as a person of the highest integrity and reliability.”

He added: “I cannot repeat often enough my deep and sincere appreciation for Claudia's dedication and advancement of EURAMI over the last six years.”

Dr Yann Rouaud, Group Medical Director at Groupe IMA, recently spoke to AirMed&Rescue about his career and the importance of professional standards bodies like EURAMI.
