Everdrone opens new drone launch site in Borås, Sweden
The new drone base brings drone first response coverage across the Västra Götaland Region to 300,000 residents
Everdrone has launched drone-as-first-responder (DFR) operations in the city of Borås in Sweden’s Västra Götaland Region.
The base was inaugurated on 29 April, and is due to become fully operational in early May.
The project is led by the government of the Västra Götaland Region, in collaboration with Everdrone and the Karolinska Institutet.
Drones dispatched from the site will be used to respond to emergency calls and deliver defibrillators prior to the arrival of an ambulance.
The Borås base will be the fourth to deploy Everdrone’s new-generation E3 drones, unveiled in February, which are designed for the Nordic climate, capable of operating in cold, snow, rain, and wind.
The new drone base brings the total coverage of Everdrone’s system to around 300,000 residents across Västra Götaland.
“The base in Borås has been strategically located based on analysis of population density, previous emergency incidents, and airspace availability,” said Daniel Blecher, Head of Customer Operations at Everdrone.
