FAP conducts inaugural UH-60 flights
The Portuguese Air Force (FAP) has conducted an inaugural flight using its new firefighting-capable UH-60 helicopters
The two UH-60s took off for the first time from their new home at Ovar Air Base last week, having been delivered to the FAP in late November.
The aircraft are part of a $47 million, six-helicopter order – the final four are scheduled for delivery by 2026.
Each firefighting-capable UH-60 boasts the capacity to transport up to a dozen crewmembers, as well as carry more than 750 gallons of water, according to Arista Aviation.
